Venerable Khen Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsering

Born in Purang, Tibet in 1958, Geshe Tashi Tsering escaped to exile in India with his parents. He received his early education in schools run by exile Tibetan Administration in India. He enrolled as a monk at Sera Mey monastery in south India in 1970 and finished Geshe Lharampa degree in 1990. Geshe la has been teaching Buddhism in the West since 1991 till 2018, mainly in the UK and other countries. He had written 6 books on Buddhist Philosophy and Practices and created a two year online Buddhist course, The Foundation of Buddhist Thought. He studied for an MA in Social Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of London University. In 2018, His Holiness the Dalai Lama appointed him the Abbot of Sera Mey Monastic University in India. In 2019, for his services to Buddhism in the UK, Geshe Tashi Tsering is awarded the British Empire Medal ( BEM).
